At age 68 Gould researched her family background and compiled these memoirs of her father, a Swiss-Italian immigrant to San Francisco in 1853, who, after a period of roaming the Motherlode (Moke Hill) settled in Marysville, where for many years he owned an ice cream parlor. Says her husband, "the charm of this biography lies in its sincerity and the vivid portrayal of a remarkably fine man and his closely united family." Photos, photos of letters.
