Tunnicliffe. the dustjacket states over 50,000 copies sold, and the dust wrapper flap continues to say sold in America. There is no indication that I can find of whether the book is a first Australian or not. There is a gift annotation dated July 1944 on the first page. The edges of the pages are quite darkened with age, and the top of the front-end has a small split. The dustjacket has been reinforced with brown paper tape on the inside otherwise, would be in component parts. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 346 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Sinopsis
My Friend Flicka is a 1941 novel by Mary O'Hara, about Ken McLaughlin, the son of a Wyoming rancher, and his horse Flicka. It was the first in a trilogy, followed by Thunderhead (1943) and Green Grass of Wyoming (1946). The popular 1943 film version featured a young Roddy McDowall. It was followed by film adaptations of the other two novels, in 1945 and 1948, and by a television series (1956-1957) that first aired on CBS, then on NBC, followed by reruns on ABC and on CBS between 1959 and 1966.
