MY GOLDEN SCHOOL DAYS A Record Book for Happy Memories

Reilly and Britton. Chicago., 1911 This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Alice Haglund who attended Newman Grove High School in Newman Grove, Nebraska. She graduated in 1915, one of some 17 in her class. Book size about 5 1/2 by 8 inches with some 93 or so pages. Bound in multi-hued paper over boards with a pale green cloth spine. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. This is a minimally filled-in example of the type with two photos (One of the class and one of the girls' basketball team); list of teachers and subjects; a hand written school yell which would subject you to considerable censure today; other hand written items. I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the early 1900's was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'.
