Sobre este artículo
Boston: Joseph Knight Company, 1896. First American edition. Hardcover. Fine. First American edition. Brick colored cloth lettered in gilt and with black, white and green Art Nouveau-design decorated front board and spine. Top edge gilt. Thee-color illustrated title page. Frontis and illustrations throughout the text by M.B. Predergast. Decorated haed- and tail-pieces. A tight, bright example, trace of rubbing at the extremities. One of Barrie's earlier and scarcer works (first published fourteen years before Peter Pan made his first appearance), a collection of humorous essays about his and his friends' days as smokers. He takes the reader on hsi personal journey from his first cigar and first pipe to "My Last Pipe". A handsome example of the late 19th century book maker's art, even for trade editions auch as this.
