Very good (spine is quite sunned and faded so that the gilt print has disappeared; gilt title on front cover mostly intact -- see scans; ffep has crease and previous owner's name in pen; interior otherwise near fine with the kind of slight page-browning you would expect in a book this age) without dust jacket. Hanneman B1. 544 pages including Ernest Hemingway's "My Old Man," which had been published in a small printing in Paris in 1923 and was later included -- after its appearance here -- in his "In Our Time," of 1925. HEMINGWAY'S FIRST APPEARANCE IN A BOOK IN THE U.S. Note that Hemingway's name is here spelled "Hemenway," includiing in the book's dedication to him, but this is indeed THE Ernest Hemingway. A chance to own a very early appearance of a Hemingway short story, written and published before his reputation had spread much beyond Paris. Includes stories from Sherwood Anderson, Theodore Dreiser, Edna Ferber, Fannie Hurst, Jean Toomer, among others.. 1st Edition thus. Hard Cover.
