Sobre este artículo
Hartford: A.D. Worthington and Company, 1888. The role of women during the American Civil War is now receiving some overdue attention. Continuing the Title Page: "As nurse in the Union Army and in relief work at home, in hospitals, camps, and at the front, during the War of the Rebellion with Anecdotes, Pathetic Incidents, and Thrilling Reminiscences portraying the Lights and Shadows of Hospital Life and the Sanitary Service of the War." This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Red pebbled cloth binding, decoratively stamped on the covers, with the scene of a nurse and fallen soldier in gilt on the front cover. The titling in gilt on the spine is fancy, serving a decorative function as well. Clean text; 700 pages. Spine is slightly faded; with mild bumps, Page ends a bit dusty; rubbing to head and foot of the spine. Very solid condition, with no cracking issues (a common problem with many 19th-Century books due to their weight; may require extra postage). An attractive copy, and quite readable today.. First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
