New York: Atheneum, 1971. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/very near Fine. Large 8vo. [6], 3-389, [5] pp. White cloth with gold lettering on the spine; red topstain. Bright yellow endpapers and pastedowns. Price of $10 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Signed without personalization by Gordon on a tipped-in leaf. Ruth Gordon was an actress, and made her debut in 1915. She worked on the stage, screen, and in television until 1984. She also wrote plays. Her career, which spanned decades, was filled with famous friendships including that of Harpo Marx, Laurence Olivier, Mia Farrow, among countless others. Her book recounts the first days of Hollywood, along with her adventures on Broadway, and the famous people she worked with along the way. A small wrinkle on the spine panel else Fine.
