Orange silhouette illustrated endpapers, tanning with two prior owners' names. Frontispiece illustration on glossy paper, tipped-in. This is Nancy Drew binding style 2, 1932 - 1937. Grosset and Dunlap hard cover without dust jacket, 1936 edition and probably 1936 printing; Nancy Drew # 13, 216 pages. Illustrated by Russell Tandy. 12mo (5"" x 7.5"") This was originally published with a frontispiece and three additional interior illustrations; however, only one additional illustration is present, between pages 108 and 109. Nancy Drew titles in the back go to #10 The Password to Larkspur Lane, published in 1933. Dana Girls books in the back go to 5: The Secret at the Hermitage, published in 1936. Judy Bolton books in the back go to 9: The Mysterious Half Cat, published in 1936. The Mystery of the Ivory Charm, Nancy Drew Mystery Story #13, by Mildred Wirt writing as Carolyn Keene. This is the original 25 chapter story. In 1974 the text was revised and shortened to 20 chapters by Priscilla Baker Carr.
Sinopsis
Nancy Drew determines if an ivory elephant charm really protects its wearer from harm when she investigates the involvement of a member of the Bengleton Wild-Animal Show in a mysterious scheme.
