Sobre este artículo

Hard cover, 8vo., in brown cloth over boards, titles blocked to front in attractive hand-lettered design in black, the spine with titles in gold and black and design of a stag's head. Title page with author portrait. (4) 460 pp., including one page publisher's advertising at front. Two novelettes in one volume, from the Author's Adirondack Tales series. Not illustrated. CONDITION: Very Good. Light rubbing at front joint, head and foot of spine. Lightly shaken. Pages lightly toned, edges a bit dusty. One former owner's signature in pencil to ffep. Otherwise sound and clean.** In the first story, Trapper John Norton (and some new and old friends) face down a Canadian gang of desperados and card sharks, who have skulked south along the Raquette River into the Saranac Lake region, bringing a mysterious personage along with them. An extremely well-written, action-packed, canoe-driven, masterpiece by the father of the Outdoor Movement, the former minister and Author William Henry Harrison ["Adirondack"]Murray (1840-1904.) This story was originally published under another title in "Golden Rule" in 1878. The second story, "The Man Who Missed It," is a more psychologically driven narrative of a man facing his personal demons. Plum & Scribner 7334.. Hard Cover. Very Good.
