Two small octavo volumes. 318; 335, [1] pp. plus eight full page photographic illustrations (including one of Yellowstone and one of a Moqui village). Title pages printed in red and black. Publisher's sage green cloth with leafy dark green and gilt borders, gilt spine and cover lettering, top edges gilt, remainder uncut. Spines a bit dulled but a very crisp and clean copy, partially unopened. Of special interest is the chapter in the second volume called "On the Pacific Slope" in which myths on "The Cascades and the Columbia"; "The Queen of Death Valley"; and "Bridal Veil Fall" are explored.
