A San Francisco Chronicle story about the author noted that "In October 2000, Dona Nieto bared her breasts to protest the clear-cutting of ancient Mendocino County redwoods and became an instant celebrity. Holding a beat-up megaphone, the 4-foot-11-inch Nieto blockaded logging trucks while reciting her eco-poem, 'I Am the Goddess.'" Rear cover cites this incident.
