Bound in contemporary or near contemporary half green calf with gilt lettering to the spine, green cloth boards. Binding very good and strong, a little faded to spine. Contents clean and tight, marbled endpapers, original printed blue wrappers bound in at the rear, a couple of ink spots to the title page. Provenance: from the library of Sir George Taylor, with his attractive bookplate to the front end paper: born Edinburgh 1904, obtained a first class degree from Edinburgh University, went on to become the Keeper of Botany, British Museum; Director of Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, general plant collector and botanist.
