Small gray hardcover with brown seashore decorations and gilt lettering, maroon endpapers with seashore life, 354 pages. 1892 publication date; 1893 print date on title page. Cover rather worn but gilt lettering still bright and legible (cover worn through at tips of corners, starting to fray at top & bottom of spine; somewhat soiled but still attractive, cloth on back cover somewhat rippled.). Sound binding but endpapers just starting to split along the hinges. Name lightly in pencil on second page; old ink inscription on last page by prior owner: "Laura and I occupied the room in which Jane Austin stayed while she was writing this book."
