Very good. 2 volumes. 8vo. xx, 494; publisher's lists: (2); 24, dated 1859; xvi; 472pp. Illustrated with 20 chromoxylograph plates, 16 of which are in full color; 76 woodcut illustrations; 8 maps, hand-colored. Contemporary half polished tan colored calf, spines in six compartments, gilt; tan-colored cloth sides; top edges gilt; marbled endpapers. Light wear and soil; a very good copy.
The illustrations were based on photographs taken by the expedition's photographer, Humphrey Lloyd Hime.
