William Blackwood and Sons., 1859. First edition leather bound hardbacks. Volume I lacking two plates and most of the China map at the end, it has 3 colour lithographs and a complete folding map of the Pei-Ho river; volume II is lackiing the Yang Tse map, it has two folding maps and 15 colour lithographs; there are further engravings in the texts. The books are bound in rubbed but sound half calf with marbled boards. There is some foxing throughout both volumes.
