(ads) Sir John Franklin served as the Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania from 1836 to 1843. Australian playwright and Scottish immigrant, David Burn (1800-1875) accompanied the Franklins on an expedition to the west coast of Tasmania in 1842. Consequently, he published "Overland Journey" in six monthly numbers in "The United Services' Journal" on 1843. This reprint is Number XXXII of the "Australian Historical Monographs" series.
