Sobre este artículo

New York: Maurizio Martino, 1991. 2 vols in 1. Brand New HARDCOVER. NO rubbing. No fading. Bright, square and tight. Sharp corners. New and never read but the outside margin of some pages at the beginning is mildly wavy [but NO stain]. NOT bad -- PHOTOS UPON REQUEST. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. No date (but 1991, First Martino printing "strictly limited to 300 copies"). HARDCOVER reprint of the scarce 1912 edition and its 1928 supplement. Full bibliographical descriptions and commentary are provided for 482 Indian captivity narratives. Volume I covers 339 titles. The supplement describes 143 more. Most entries have substantial (and often fascinating) annotations. Each volume has its own "names of captives" index. This copy's sturdy cloth binding will withstand use much better than the paperbound originals. Full title: Narratives of Captivity among the Indians of North America, A List of Books and Manuscripts on This Subject in the Edward E. Ayer Collection of the Newberry Library [with] Supplement. Bound in the publisher's sturdy maroon cloth, stamped in shiny gold over a handsome black spine label. Stillwell 969.. Reprint of the 1912 and 1928 editions. Hardcover. New/No jacket, as issued. 2 volumes in 1: x, 120pp. + viii, 49pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
