Vol IV, "Caesar to Cotes-Du-Nord", has its own Title Page, dated 1848. 1019 Pages. Text arranged in Double Columns with Engraved In-Text Illustrations. 8 3/4" Tall, 1.3 Kilos. Contemporary Brown Calf Half-Leather Binding with 5 Raised Bands to spine. Gilt Title on Red Ground in 2nd compartment and Gilt Vol. Details on Black Ground in 3rd. Marbled paper-covered Boards and Leather Corners. Page edges speckled Red. Some edge wear, a little scuffing to Leather and rubbing to boards (see photos). No inscriptions.
