Perth: R. Morison And Son, 1792. First edition. leather_bound. Modern blue morocco, red leather spine label. Very good. (IV) 210 pages. 22 x 14 cm. Twenty engraved plates. A unique collection, in text and images, of the entomology studies from the leading authorities at the time. Most notable of the entomologists, Jan Swammerdam, who pioneered the use of the microscope for use in anatomy drawing, and anatomical conclusions through the use of insects, animals and finally humans. He was the first to observe red blood cells with a microscope. Text clean, one or two leaves with minor stains, plates are bright and fresh.
