First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and many in-text images. A detailed commentary on the natural history and sporting pastimes of locals to Moray, Scotland, a historic area which borders the Aberdeenshire and Highlands. The work explores the surrounding area on a monthly basis, discussing the changes in nature and the different activities available. With a memoir of the author. Written by Charles St. John, an English naturalist and sportsman. Bound by Burn. In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. A small split in the cloth to the tail of the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Small tears to the edges of pages 29 to 32. Booth Bird Museum Brighton bookplate to the front pastedown with an ink stamp to the front endpaper and odd page. A page of notes pasted to the front endpaper. The odd small pencil mark. Bound by Burn. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
