Sobre este artículo

London, UK: Hamlyn, 1972. 1st Thus 1st Impression. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st thus. 512pp. In black cloth boards with gilt and red decorations and lettering, red blocked spine labels, top edge sprayed red, decorative headband, red endpapers (boards are strong, bright and clean, with smooth edges and sharp corners). There is a previous owner's label on the front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (very gently bumped on corners and spine ends, faded titles on a sunned spine as typical for this edition). Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A pleasing volume from the Agatha Christie Crime Collection. 8vo. The Agatha Christie Crime Collection, issued by Hamlyn Publishing Group in the late 1960s and early 1970s, is a definitive collected edition of Christie's crime fiction, including her short stories, up to the publication of Nemesis in 1972. Each volume contains three of her detective fiction novels. Issued by Hamlyn on by monthly subscription only and was not sold through bookshops. The set was nicely produced, with each volume featuring golden dagger over Christie's initials on the front panel, coloured endpapers, sprayed edges and encased in period dust jackets, each one featuring a element of one of the three mysteries. Some of those in the series are now hard to find especially, it is said, some of the later issues, as subscriptions to the series fell off towards the end. We have several volumes from this series in stock and offer generous discounts to those purchasing more than one volume at a time - please inquire.

Sinopsis

E-book exclusive extras:1) Christie biographer Charles Osborne's essay on Nemesis;2) "The Marples": the complete guide to all the cases of crime literature's foremost female detective.Even the unflappable Miss Marple is astounded as she reads the letter addressed to her on instructions from the recently deceased tycoon Mr Jason Rafiel, whom she had met on holiday in the West Indies (A Caribbean Mystery). Recognising in her a natural flair for justice and a genius for crime-solving, Mr Rafiel has bequeathed to Miss Marple a £20,000 legacy—and a legacy of an entirely different sort. For he has asked Miss Marple to investigate…his own murder. The only problem is, Mr Rafiel has failed to name a suspect or suspects. And, whoever they are, they will certainly be determined to thwart Miss Marple’s inquiries—no matter what it will take to stop her.Of note: Nemesis is the last Jane Marple mystery that Agatha Christie wrote—though not the last Marple published.
