Sobre este artículo
London: Heinemann,, 1988. First edition, first impression, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Marcia - whose encouragement nearly twenty years ago, when I was at the start of this task, has meant a great deal to me - as ever, Martin. London 30th September 1988". The recipient was Marcia Falkender, the key political aide of prime minister Harold Wilson; the book was since acquired from her son. Never Despair was the eighth and concluding volume of the monumental biography, started by Churchill's son Randolph and, after Randolph's death, completed by Gilbert. It is acclaimed as one of the finest biographies of the century, and in scope and thoroughness no other writing on Churchill matches it. Octavo. Original brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Book rather well-thumbed, contents clean; jacket worn at edges, unclipped; a good copy in good jacket.
