Contains story and stunning photos of the making of the film. In order to store it in a humidity free clean box, the book was folded about 4 inches at the end. A wonderful copy of this scarce special film program which was issued by Cinerama for Premier screenings of Director Stanley Kubrick’s film. 2001: A Space Odyssey was based on Arthur C. Clarke’s novel and starred Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood and William Sylvester.

The book is fine. The price-clipped dust jacket has minor wear at the head of the spine and at the corners of the front flap fold. A stunning copy of this oversize volume, full of still in color and black and white of Fellini's films. The copy has an interesting associative inscription - from Howard Zief, who was a film director from the 1970s through the 1990s; (his most notable films were Private Benjamin and House Calls). Inscribed to Edward Warschilka, who was the editor of House Calls.

This is a very scarce program for the 1st American performance of the opera "MADAM BUTTERFLY" by Giacomo Puccini. The title page of the program states: "First Performance in America and First Presentation in English on October 15th, 1906, at the Columbia Theatre, Washington, D.C." Published by Boosey & Co., New York.Puccini wrote five versions of the opera. The original two-act version,which was presented at the world premiere at La Scala on 17 February 1904, was withdrawn after the disastrous premiere. Puccini then substantially rewrote it, this time in three acts. This second version[was performed on 28 May 1904 in Brescia, where it was a great success. Various Photographers , 1930. A group of 32 photographs, 30 b&w and 2 color, ranging in size from 4" x 6" to 7" x 9 1/2", 10 circa 1930's, the rest 1957-1997, 8 SIGNED ( signees to be determined). Credited photographers are: Ginger Gamage, Forbes, Jay Dee (Ft. Worth, TX), V. Sladon, (NYC), and John Lindquist. Some of the photos have writing verso identifying the subjects, including one of Svetlova with Claudio Arrau and Mantovani. Several appear to be other noted people in the world of dance. And the 1930's photos, several of which are signed, appear to be friends of Svetlovas. Marina Svetlova ( 1923-2009) had a carrer in ballet that began as a child in 1931 and carried into the 1960's. She was a soloist with the Original Ballet Russe and a ballerina with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet.
