Folio, rebound in maroon library cloth, 66 engraved plates, including the frontispiece and two folding maps, [4], 682, [10] pp. Page edges with chipping, tearing and finger soiling, library stamp on title and last page, normal aging and foxing, some faint dampstains to some plates; otherwise very good. This is a substantial volume that provides a detailed history of London, and the surrounding area, beginning with its founding throufgh the year 1770, and includes coverage of law, architecture, and social and cultural history.
