Sobre este artículo

New York: Carroll & Graf Publishers, Inc., 1991. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine. The second annual collection of the best short crime fiction by British and American writers at the beginning of the last decade of the 20th century, edited by Maxim Jakubowski, well-known for his own crime writing as well as his science fiction, erotic and critical works. This collection includes work by authors well known in their own right, including, Reginadl Hill, Ed Gorman, Keating, Pronzini, Melville, Vachss, Maron and Lewin, and with two pieces from what Jakubowski calls his "Vintage Corner," by Ed McBain and Charles Willeford. Originally issued in the UK in 1990, this copy is from the U.S. first edition, first printing, published by Carroll & Graf in 1991. About 5 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches, 244 pages including an introduction by Jakubowski. Bound in blue paper-covered boards with gold lettering on the spine. Dustjacket's front panel shows a svelte, well-dressed man adjusting his tie, his polished appearance marred by a red stain on the cuff of white shirt. Some very light foxing on the top edge of the text block, o/w boards and text are complete, clean and unmarked with no noticeable flaws. Not ex-library, not remaindered. Dustjacket shows only a touch of surface wear, no tears, creases or bumped corners. Not price-clipped. A collectable copy. A last, nice touch by Jakubowski, was the inclusion of a one-page bibliography of Jim Thompson, legendary American crime writer of the mid-20th century.
