Sobre este artículo

New York: The American Historical Society, Inc., 1932. Very Good+ condition. Bright, clean, square, and tight. SEE PHOTOS. Sharp corners. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. Pages are clean and unmarked -- probably little read, if at all. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. NEW JERSEY, A HISTORY : BIOGRAPHICAL AND GENEALOGICAL RECORDS. 1932. First Edition. Biographical profiles and family histories of New Jersey's historical figures and leading citizens from the 1930s and earlier. Profusely illustrated with their full page portraits -- photographic or engraved. Tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait of Gov. Foster M. Voorhees. This appears to be what some would call a "Mug Book" in which the state's politicians, professionals (doctors, lawyers, etc.) and businessmen pay to have their life stories placed into print. Nonetheless the book is a valuable source of biographical and genealogical data that can be found in no other single source. VERY SCARCE, probably published for subscribers only in a very limited quantity. Index. Attractively bound in the original blue marbled paper with black cloth spine and corners. Stamped in bright gold. Top edge gilt. Oversize Hardcover. 8" wide by 10.75" tall by 2" thick. This large, heavy book will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments, but only the standard charge for media mail. . First Edition. Oversize Hardcover. Very Good+ condition/No dust jacket, as issued. (viii), 405pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
