This is a book of historical fiction based on the author's childhood on the frontier near Caldwell Kansas. The principal is Linda Reedy who moved with her family to the Kansas Prairie with a community of farmers which they become a part of. The book gives the reader a look at the pleasures that American youth used to enjoy- close relationships with parents and family, growing up with responsibilities, and the chances to learn. A clean very presentable adolescent book in a Brodart mylar jacket.
