This is a Very Good copy of the Second Edition [stated]. Red cloth binding with ruling and titling in white on the front cover; titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 528 pages; two catalogs in the rear; 12 pages including a 4-page section of the Works of Anatole France, followed then by another 16 pages. Corners remain sharp; spine has faded to a sort of pink, but the gilt remains bright. No dustwrapper.. Second Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Sinopsis
A successful author and Liberal MP with a loving and benevolent wife, Richard Remington appears to be a man to envy. But underneath his superficial contentment, he is far from happy with either his marriage or the politics of his party. The New Machiavelli describes the disarray into which his life is thrown when he meets the young and beautiful Isabel Rivers and becomes tormented by desire.
