Yezierska's first book, a collection of short stories previously published in magazines, and later made into a movie, about Jewish immigrant ghetto life on the Lower East Side of New York. Scarce first printing of author's first book.

Professor Efros was a Rabbi, Hebrew poet, professor of semantics at University of Buffalo and, later, rector of Tel Aviv University. He also translated many of the great English poets into Hebrew.

This book is in good condition. There is some minor wear on the front, back and spine of the cover boards and the edges. The corners are bumped. The previous owners name is pasted on the inside of the front cover board. The pages are just yellowing, but clear of any markings.
