The Harvard Review describing her as "a poet of wisdom and generosity whose vision allows us to look intimately at a world not of our making. The humbling effect of that perspective is her lasting gift to readers". This collection contains great poems such as "Song to Autumn", "Why I Wake Early", and "Little Dog's Rhapsody in the Night". Mary Oliver (1935-2019) won the Pulitzer prize in 1984 and the National Book Award in 1992. Primarily a poet of nature, she lived for most of her writing career in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and has been compared to Emerson and Emily Dickinson. Her poetry is "an excellent antidote for the excesses of civilization, for too much hurry and inattention, and the baroque conventions of our social and professional lives. [She] is a poet of wisdom and generosity whose vision allows us to look intimately at a world not of our making. Sinopsis
