Sobre este artículo

New York: Robert Bonner's Sons, 1890. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. 5" x 6.75", 273 pp + publisher's ads, in original blue cloth with patterned endpapers. Mild spine slant, large bookplate (Sylvester Stephen Marvin) on front pastedown, small indent and scratch in spine cloth, but still a nice copy overall. "Henry Woodfin Grady (1850-1889) was an American journalist and orator who helped reintegrate the states of the Confederacy into the Union after the American Civil War. Grady encouraged the industrialization of the South. He was praised by contemporaries...as a civic promoter, political strategist and captivating speaker and by Atlanta journalist Frederick Allen as a visionary. However, in modern times, Grady's arguments for the need for white supremacy in the post-Civil War South have resulted in his legacy being seen as mixed and overtly racist" (wiki). Grady died shortly before this book went to press.
