New York: Samuel French, 1940. First Edition Mordecai (Max) Gorelik (1899 - 1990) was an American theatrical designer, producer, director and college-level instructor. This volume, New Theatres for Old, became a classic college textbook. 8vo size red clothbound hardcover; 553 pages plus numerous black and white illustrations on glossy stock. There are also some black and white decorations within the text. Contents include: On Stage Pictures and Platforms Sunset of Spendor Theatre is Life Itself Letter and Spirit Theatre Is Style Theatrical Theatre Theatre for Audiences Theatre Is A Tribunal Theatre Is Revelation Ex-library professionally rebound in red cloth and with new endpapers in 1982. Traditional library treatments include library stamp on all glossy illustrations. We note only a light spot on back cover. . First. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.

RETURNS: Returns are accepted in original packaging with advance Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA.)
