No former owner marks. A noble novel about a man's attempt to restore passenger pigeons to America. Pulitzer prize novelist, author of "Andersonville". With multiple writing careers, as a journalist he was the first and only one allowed to ride with NYPD on their beat. He writing was based on significant historical research. The last passenger pigeon, Martha Washington, died in 1914. Her death sparked the conservation movement for the preservation of threatened species.
