Rebound in the original printed wrappers, these bit frayed and dust-soiled, laid-down on support, with a new plain paper spine; bit dog-eared, bit foxed. Untrimmed copy in a very good condition. ~ First separated edition. Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz (1807-1873), was a Swiss paleontologist, glaciologist, geologist and a prominent innovator in the study of the Earth's natural history. He was a professor of natural history at University of Neuchâtel, later, he accepted a professorship at Harvard University. His work "Nomenclator zoologicus" was published in 1842-47. The Universal Index appears there as a 393 page section, printed in double columns. F-5 IN
