This Reader's Digest edition followed the 1975 publication of this work by Harry N. Abrams. --- Painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) became famous for his Saturday Evening Post magazine covers, the subjects of which were often ordinary Americans painted in realistic style. He was dismissed as a mere illustrator by many in the art world, but with time has developed a wide, appreciative following as a truly great painter. --- In full bright red cloth-covered boards with silver and blue foil titling on cover & spine. Jacket features Rockwell image on front. --- This Near Fine volume is clean, bright and unmarked, inside and out. Jacket with a couple of tape-repaired tears at edges & with minor chafing and rubbing; is otherwise nice.; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 313 pages .
