Michaux Vol. 1 front free endpaper absent. Vol. 3 title page nearly detached. There are just a few text pages slightly foxed. The plates are almost all entirely clean and fresh. Light use to cloth; tight and sound. . 8vo,. Illustrated with lovely colored engravings: Vol. I, Plates 1-50; Vol. III, Plates 101-156; Nuttall Vol. II, Plates XLI-LXXX, and Nuttall Vol. III, Plates LXXXI-CXXI. . All four volumes bear the intriguing 19th c. inscription: "Confiscated from John Taylor of Fleetwood Virginia and presented to John Blakeslee by his friend J. Washbourne." Possibly this set has been incomplete since that confiscation.
