North to the Orient de Anne Morrow Lindbergh - 1935

New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1935. Hardcover. Near Fine/VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. The original price of $1.29 is present on both the front and rear flaps. DJ is bright though has some scuffs and scratches, rear of jacket torn along the top left and right corners as seen in the photos. Red cloth boards underneath are clean and bright, gilt is bright. The only thing that lower this condition from fine to near fine was a small tear in the cloth along the bottom edge of the rear board. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Previous owners signature on front and rear pastedowns, no other markings found - no bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting. Pages are mildly toned due to age but are clean. Copyright date shows a single date of 1935 but the rear flap of the jacket shows numerous printings. It is not clear if this is for future printings or this is the "Harbrace Edition" of which the flap states the limited printing of 50,000 in August, 1937. 1935 date was listed as this is what is stated on the copyright page. With the exception of the scratches and tears on the dust jacket this book looks like it was hardly ever handled.
