Sobre este artículo

Five travel guides covering Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and some of the Artic Islands. With thirty eight folding maps across the collection. Five travel guides to Scandinavia published between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. With folding maps. Comprised of mixed publishers and mixed editions, including a Baedeker guide, Willson's guide, one guide to Norway published by Ward, Lock & Co, and two travel handbooks published by Cook's publishing. With twenty eight maps, including ten folding maps to the Baedeker Guide to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, collated and complete. With seven folding maps to the fourth edition of the Handy Guide to Norway, collated and complete. With nine folding maps to the New Handbook to Norway, collated and complete. Cook's Traveller's Handbook to Sweden lacks the title page. With ten folding maps, collated but lacking the map called for in the rear pocket. With two folding maps to the tenth edition of Cook's Handbook to Norway and Denmark with Iceland, Spitsbergen and Other Arctic Islands, collated and complete. Bookseller's sticker to the front paste down of the Baedeker Guide to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark from 'S. H. Lazarus', a London- based second hand bookseller. This volume also has an ink stamp to the title page reading 'alte auflage' meaning old edition. With a blind stamp to the first page of the preface in the Handy Guide to Norway. The blind stamp reads 'Glanbrane Park, Llandovery, South Wales'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half title of Cook's Traveller's Handbook to Sweden. The Inscription reads 'Messers Thos book/ 38 Concly Street. York. DS Knight. January 5th 1936.' In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Generally, lightly rubbed to the boards and the spine, although Cook's Handbook to Norway and Denmark is a little soiled to the boards and lightly rubbed to the joints. The Baedeker Guide is rather discoloured to the spine. The front hinge of the Handy Guide to Norway is starting and is tender, and both hinges of Cook's travellers handbook to Sweden are starting, but firm. Internally, generally, firmly bound, although a little looser to the Handy Guide of Norway. Some pages near the plates are a little foxed in the older guides, but in the later editions pages are bright and clean. Very Good
