Sobre este artículo
Single volume (149 x 103 mm), pp. [8], 132, illus., inscribed by author in ink to half-title. Bound in contemporary three quarter morocco with marbled paper sides, spine lettered gilt and in compartments, with original illustrated and textured floral green wrappers bound-in. Extremities rubbed with a couple nicks to endpapers. Very good. First edition, inscribed by the author on the half-title: "A mes chers amis Jourdain. Julia A. Daudet". Daudet (1844-1940) was a Parisian writer who first published poetry at the age of 17. She went on the collaborate with future husband Alphonse Daudet, and became known for hosting salons frequented by such figures as Émile Zola, Guy de Maupassant, and Hélène Vacaresco. Daudet was named chevalier of the Légion d'honneur in 1922. "Notes sur Londres" offers Daudet's impressions of the great bustling city and its people. Stock ref. 1842
