Paris: Flammarion, Éditeur, 1938. First edition. Paperback. H. (Helene) Guertik. Very slim square octavo. Stapled pictorial wraps. Each uncolored page faces an example of the same design, only completed with color. Very good. The wraps and pages are moderately age-toned. This copy once belonged to the Girard Foundation Library, and has a bookplate on the verso of the first page (obscuring a little bit of the uncolored illustration). With charming illustrations by Russian artist, Hélène Guertik. After fleeing the Bolshevik Revolution, Guertik began her career in France by painting scarves for Chanel, and went on to illustrate eleven works for Le Père Castor.
