Sobre este artículo
Rome: Societa Biblica Britannica e Forestiera, 1939. Hardcover. Very Good. Shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book, spine faded, legible. Clean and unmarked A New Testament with Psalms, translation by Giovanni Diodati. In Italian. Published just before WW II by the British and Foreign Bible Society. Diodati (6 June 1576 3 October 1649) was a Genevan-born Italian Calvinist theologian and translator. He was the first translator of the Bible into Italian from Hebrew and Greek sources. Born of a noble family originally from Lucca in Italy, the Diodati's were exiled on account of their Protestantism. His family considered themselves Italian "di nation lucchese", of Lucchese nationality. He and his father Carlo Diodati were part of the "Italian Cabal", a group of about sixty noble Luchessi families who had emigrated to Geneva. The younger Giovanni matriculated at the Genevan Academy in 1596. At the age of twenty-one he was nominated professor of Hebrew at Geneva. In 1606 he became professor of theology, in 1608 pastor, or parish minister, at Geneva. Diodati held his professorship until 1645, four years before his death. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
