Sobre este artículo
New York: William Morrow & Company, 1974. Book Club Edition. Presumed book club edition. Hardcover. Good in fair dust jacket. Price clipped. DJ has wear, soiling, creases, chips and edge tears.. xvii, [1], 364 p. Illustrations. Maps. Occasional footnotes. Bibliography. Index. This book describes one twenty-four hour period, in great detail, in the bombing campaign waged by Great Britain against Germany in World War II. On the night of 30-31 March 1944 R. A. F. Bomber Command raided the city of Nuremberg in northern Bavaria. It met almost all the difficulties and dangers which enemy defenses and the weather could possibly produce. These and a measure of bad luck combined to turn a routine operation into a tagedy. The Nuremberg Raid gained an evil reputation among Bomber Command men and, for several reasons, became one of the turning-points of the bombing war. Because the raid portrayerd so dramatically the hazards faced by bomber crews during the war and because of its significance in the Strategic Bomber Offensive, the author tells its story and that of all other Allied air operations carried out on that night in great detail. He also describes the course of the bombing war from 1939 to the eve of the Nurembertg Raid to help you follow more easily the actual description of the raid and its importance as a turnng-point in the bombing war.
