Tarrant, Margaret W.. the boards are rubbed and the front hinge partially exposed; the title page has loss to the outer bottom corner and a smaller bite along the tail as has page XV, ditto page 90. The plate on page 20 has been repaired with acid free tape and the page reinforced along the hinge, also with acid free tape, the plate on page 20 has also been repaired with acid free tape. Page 117 to page 120 are damaged with loss along the outer edge and page 117 reattached using acid free tape as has the plate on page 262. All plates are present. There is the occasional dust stain. The book has been much loved, much thumbed and it shows, though it is worse at the beginning of the book, from the middle onwards being almost respectable. The usual cliche, not as awful as it sounds, but not for the perfectionist. No publishing date, it was a Christmas gift in 1921. Fifth edition.
