Joseph-Marie Degérando or de Gérando (1772-1842) was one of the precursors of anthropology and wrote one of the first ethnographic survey guides, published in 1800 by the Société des Observateurs de l'Homme. Alongside achieving great acclaim as a zoologist, Morris was also known for being an ethnologist and surrealist painter, and for popular television programmes, including "Zoo Time". In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is very bright and smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
