Original dark green paper covered boards, paper title label on spine, 8vo. vii, iv, [2], 164, 158, 331-353, 8 (publishers ads) pp. Author statement after contents pages explains the pagination: "The Reader will observe an error in the paging of the Notes, arising from the circumstance of the book having been divided in order to expedite its progress through the Press. From the same cause the pages are renewed in the body of the work." Owners (Thomas Dixon, Littleton) small label on ffep, same name in ink ffep, otherwise no marks in book, binding solid. Covers show considerable edge wear, corners bumped. Chipping, with 1/4" loss top of spine, chipping to title label. Book condition Good+. Uncommon in plain original binding, pages uncut.
