Edited and abridged by Australian historian Geoffrey Blainey, this travel description was originally published as 'Oceana: Or England and her Colonies', Author, 1886. At the time of publication it was both vaunted and strongly criticised [it did contain errors of fact.] However it remains a fascinating insight into 19th century Australia and New Zealand . . .
