Bound in decorated, marbled paper over boards, one-quarter leather-backed, with four raised bands to each spine, gilt bordering and lettering and fleurs-de-lis, some rubbing and scuffing thereto. Facsimile signature of the publisher to each volume. According to the Wikipedia article about him, "Jean-Baptiste Henri-Dominique Lacordaire (12 May 1802 â 21 November 1861), often styled Henri-Dominique Lacordaire, was a French ecclesiastic, preacher, journalist, theologian and political activist. He re-established the Dominican Order in post-Revolutionary France. Lacordaire was reputed to be the greatest pulpit orator of the nineteenth century.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
