Hardback, 1886, third edition, revised and enlarged, with 104 illustrations and 2000 facsimiles of plate marks. Published by John Murray, London, 391 pages + xvi with additional 32 pages listing other publications by John Murray. Contains loose note of errata at beginning of first chapter.
Green cloth boards and spine with gilt design and lettering. Some marking and scuffing. Wear at edges and small tears at top and bottom of spine. Bumped corners, slightly torn. Hinges intact and binding holding but quite strained in places. Page edges browned and a bit marked. A little foxing to a few early page surfaces and a little marking but generally clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
