Sobre este artículo

London: Andrew Melrose, 1912. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 8.5" by 6". Not Stated . The first impression of this charming volume dedicated to the history and antiquities of old Paris by Henry Shelley. A lovely volume exploring the history and antiquities of old Paris, with chapters on the famous cabarets, cafes, hotels, salons, clubs, theatres &c that used to liven the streets of the capital and helped built the city's monumental reputation across the world. By Henry C. Shelley. Illustrated with numerous full page plates of Paris. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cream cloth; the first impression was issued both in blue and cream. In the original publisher's cream cloth with gilt stamp to the front board. Externally smart with some shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. With a minor soiling to the boards, more noticeable due to the cream colour of the cloth, and a darkening to the spine, which presents minor chipping to the head and tail. Neatly inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper, dated 1915. Internally, the binding is firm with only a slight tenderness to the title page. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with numerous full page plates of Paris. Collated, complete. Very Good
