A very fine copy. The work consists of biographical and descriptive chapters, a list of marks used at Etruria and explanatory text to each object illustrated. Specific chapters cover Wedgwood's life; the invention and progress of Wedgwood's art work; designers and modelers employed by Wedgwood; clay and materials used; a classification of Wedgwood's ornamental work; forgeries and imitations; biographers and critics of Wedgwood; hints to collectors, etc..

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
